Doing the things I list below should give you a good idea of what is possible to keep your Group Members happy:

Send out a valuable Announcement. This is the only way to communicate with all of your Group Members at once. If your Group has a website, you can include a URL in this message to guide them somewhere else where you can provide them more information, but you don’t want to over use this feature and potentially be seen as a spammer. You are also limited to only one Announcement per week.

Add an RSS feed. There is an ability to add an RSS feed from a website or blog to automatically populate the News tab with data. I don’t see the value in this unless the RSS feed is clearly aligned with the objective of your Group. If it is not, this may be seen as RSS Spam and people won’t look at your News tab. This raises a larger question as to whether people are going to your LinkedIn Group looking for news. If you have a website that fits perfectly with your Group, then great. But, if not, it’s probably better to let people organically contribute news articles that they find interesting. You can do the same by creating a Google Alert around a keyword and contributing content when you see a suitable article.
